Clouds are Angel Pillows, No?
You know you live in the desert when the top news story is a few inches of rain.

Granted, for a region that gets about eight (if that much) inches a year, a rainfall measured in inches is significant.  But, in light of real storms--Katrina--it's pretty laughable.

Words spoken by one nitwit on the local news.  "Who knew these clouds could hold so much water?"

Well, duh, anyone who's taken high school science?   Clouds are made of what? Ya big maroon.

Some of the stupidest students in the science labs I taught were Journalism majors. (Sadly, the absolute worst were Education majors.)

A combination of sick and busy the last couple of days.  Really, I can be both.  I loath feeling sorry for myself, so I do more work when sick.  Yard looks spiffy, but I'm so sore I can hardly move.

bored angelOne of several WIPs, the pose was stolen from a statue in a Design Toscano catalogue.  It was supposed to be a gesture study, but I like it.  Fixing the line work, which means redrawing all with the pen tool in PS, and then futzing to make it look more like real inking.  Wings aren't done yet.

Writing...a meager 500 words.  Must get ass in gear today.
P.K.

When I was an undergrad, I dropped out of my education major because the University stopped requiring education majors to take a foreign language. Too many of them couldn't pass even a basic Spanish course.

Later (after a double major in psych and English) I started a masters in special education. One of the guys in my teaching of reading class had only 2 more courses to go when the professor discovered that he couldn't read beyond the third grade level.

I decided I might be more challenged in another field. Besides, coming from a long line of teachers, it sickened me to realize that we were lowering the standards for those who would teach.

I was thrilled with the rain. The weather person thinks he's being entertaining. Remember, your local news isn't about information ;^)

NursePam: Thank you.

Education majors always made home schooling seem like a great idea.
